Friday, January 30, 2009 Stressed. FYP giving me lots of grief, with a really tight timeline. Phd mentor is trying to help but his comments now aren't helpful at all, his speciality is user interfaces and he's commenting on that when my chief concern right now is getting things to simply work. Simply put, I'm trying to build the wall, and he's telling me that the colour's ugly. Yes, I know, and yes, it's something we have to do something about, but not now. I just feel so pek cek now I want to scream. My friends are gonna suffer during badminton later, I need to let the steam out somewhere. Thursday, January 22, 2009 It's like.. standing at the bedroom window and watching a car, some distance away, roaring towards the wall. Can't do anything about it. And you'll never know whether there's gonna be an accident -- maybe the driver will break or swerve away in time, maybe they're filming a movie and the wall's fake, or the car's fake, or the driver's fake. Whatever. All I can do is sit and watch and make cryptic comments on my blog. While praying that everything will turn out ok. Thursday, January 15, 2009 The problem with doing work on the computer, and especially on Firefox (I'm using a TiddlyWiki) is that the temptation to surf the net inanely is enormous.. shit, what am I doing blogging? I've got a meeting at 5 and not enough things to show. Haha damn it. Tuesday, January 13, 2009 Learning languages is great fun. Especially Japanese, and especially this semester because my favourite Nagami-sensei is lecturing. I think his lectures aren't as good as Saitou-sensei's, but he's quite new to it and it's still good anyway. Now I hope for good tutors and classmates. My final semester has finally begun. And I'm gonna be filled with enthusiasm and energy for the first couple of weeks at least. Here's to straight As and first-class honours! Today Nagami-sensei showed a trailer of the excellent movie 『世界の中心で愛を叫ぶ』 so I'm gonna be finding some time to rewatch it, probably tomorrow morning when my bro's in school and I have the 22" monitor to myself. Masami Nagasawa!! *drools* And all Nagami-sensei wanted to show was 1 shout, 2 minutes into the trailer: たすけてください！ -- a sentence with the て-form. Sunday, January 04, 2009 Today I took a look back at the older posts of this blog. It's been 4 years and 10 months since the first post, and I'm relieved to discern an increase in maturity down the years. Even if, for the longest time, I was just an emo kid (and maybe I still am..). Saturday, January 03, 2009 聴こえますか――真実の旋律。 ef - a tale of melodies Not since ef - a tale of memories has an anime taken my heart hostage in this way. ef - a tale of melodies gripped my heart and led it through the depths of despair and darkness, and also took it to the highs of joy and bliss. At the end of it all was a great catharsis, as love, in all its forms, triumphed over despair, evil, death and distance. This is one sequel that does not disappoint. Highly, highly recommended.
