The Human Instrumentality Project

I learnt to roller-skate today. Fell down more times than I can count, but I've managed to grasp the basics, haha. Only got a big problem with speed and downslopes. And a minor problem trying to brake. Fun! Everyone claimed I learn fast, being able to skate so well after just one session.

Finally worked up the effort to call the driving instructor and start learning to drive after one year plus of procrastinating. But the phone number is more than a year old and is no longer in use! So I'm now looking for another instructor. Sigh.

Also applied for a debit card, again after months of procrastinating. Things left to do: Clean up my stuff, pack away my NS stuff and prepare my field pack for mobilisation, start regular jogging, wrap all my books in plastic, and countless other stuff I can't think of now. Already March is coming to an end, so August is not as far away as imagined. Yikes.

Let's Make A Deal
by Diane Blue
You forgive me for liking you too much,
And I'll forgive you for not liking me enough.

You forgive me for missing you so,
And I'll forgive you for being so cold.

You forgive me for the loud racing of my heart,
And I'll forgive you for not hearing it.

You forgive me for playing your games,
And I'll forgive you for toying with my emotions.

You forgive me for finding you so attractive,
And I'll forgive you for not noticing.

You forgive me for raising you up so high,
And I'll forgive you for bringing me down so low.

You forgive me for wanting to be with you,
And I'll forgive you for avoiding me.

You forgive me for being so pathetic,
And I'll forgive you for taking advantage of it.

You forgive me for not being able to let go,
And I'll forgive you for never having latched on.

You forgive me for having hopes and dreams,
And I'll forgive you for crushing them.

Forgiveness brings inner peace.
Do we have a deal?

It's so good to meet with friends, especially to part with words unsaid. It holds the promise of further meetings, a confidence that there will be no awkward silences. It is even better to meet new friends then part with words unsaid, to know that you have made a new friend and that the world out there is filled with people waiting for you to befriend. Also the things you learn about the person, about life in general, or about things you've never known about, from the conversations. It is a good feeling to learn and to improve knowledge.

I collect my IC on Friday! Hopefully. It depends on my RSM being in camp today, and depends on there being no special events tomorrow. Now I'm going out of the tunnel into the bright sunshine and a broad plain of grass stretching from horizon to horizon, a limitless space for me to roam and grow and to be the best me I can be. But where do I go? What is my destination from now on, or do I simply roam aimlessly only to find, years later, that I've not moved far from where I started at all? The end of the tunnel is hardly the be all and end all, on the contrary it is the beginning of the rest of my life. No more do I follow a guided path, from now on I go where my feet take me. So, maybe the tunnel ain't that bad after all?

My computer is fixed! The power supply spoilt itself, it turned out. All the repairman did was to replace it and the computer was right as rain. All for free, too, because my computer is 1 week shy of its first birthday. But it wasn't so bad, without a computer, since I still have my PS2. :)

My computer broke down.. My brother claimed that, while he was playing, it switched off suddenly and would not start again. So there goes everything, including new blog layout. Hopefully the hard disk is intact, because I did not back anything up.. Aargh.
